Saturday November 15 – Sunday November 16
Workshop weekend with Elias Björn (free and open for youths 13 -23 years, please email info@gallerisyster.se if you are interested)
What does the male body look like? What are our ideals and how does these ideals affect they way we perceive our own bodies, male and female? During the workshop the participants will take part in the creation of Elias Björn’s art piece. The piece, a 12 meter long wooden man, develops during the exhibition period, literally by the labour of the visitors who will create and shape it. Elias Björn wants to point out the collective labour as a creative force, a non predictable spur of the moment, something that happens between people through active decisions. He wants to explore the construction of masculinity and how it is shaped in relation to the male body and how we perceive it. During the workshop we will build together: with saws, hammers, screwdrivers and by analyzing what we are doing.

There will be some food for the participants during the evening. Galleri Syster will arrange transportation Boden Luleå for those who come from there. Participants from the rest of Norrbotten will get money for bustickets. Please email info@gallerisyster.se for more information.
